Here we report zircon U\u2013Pb geochronology, Hf isotopes and whole-rock geochemistry from four granitic plutons in the Nanling and Yunkai domains. The zircon data define seven groups of weighted mean\n            <jats:sup>206<\/jats:sup>\n            Pb\/\n            <jats:sup>238<\/jats:sup>\n            U ages as 218\u2009\u00b1\u20092, 222\u2009\u00b1\u20094, 225\u2009\u00b1\u20093, 227\u2009\u00b1\u20093, 221\u2009\u00b1\u20092, 224\u2009\u00b1\u20093 and 231\u2009\u00b1\u20093\u2005Ma, representing the magmatic crystallization ages. These intrusions are characterized by a peraluminous nature, with high A\/CNK values (&gt;1.1), negative Eu, Ba, Sr, Nb and Ti anomalies, and enrichment in LREE, Rb, Th, U and Pb. Zircon grains from all the samples show variably negative\n            <jats:italic>\u03b5<\/jats:italic>\n            <jats:sub>Hf<\/jats:sub>\n            (\n            <jats:italic>t<\/jats:italic>\n            ) values (\u22123.8 to \u221218.6) with two-stage Hf model ages clustered in the range 1.4\u20132.5\u2005Ga. Our data indicate that the Early Mesozoic granitic magmas were generated by the partial melting of crustal rocks with insignificant input of mantle materials.
