Our results show that the rocks are the same age (U\u2013Pb zircon ages of 694.5\u2009\u00b1\u20092.1\u2005Ma for two diorites and 695.3\u2009\u00b1\u20093.4\u2005Ma for one gabbronorite). These are partial melts of the mantle and related fractionates (\u03b5Nd\n            <jats:sub>690<\/jats:sub>\n            \u2009=\u2009+4.2 to +7.3,\n            <jats:sup>87<\/jats:sup>\n            Sr\/\n            <jats:sup>86<\/jats:sup>\n            Sr\n            <jats:sub>i<\/jats:sub>\n            \u2009=\u20090.70246\u20130.70268, zircon \u03b4\n            <jats:sup>18<\/jats:sup>\n            O \u223c +5\u2030). Trace element patterns indicate that Atud magmas formed above a subduction zone as part of a large and long-lived (\n            <jats:italic>c<\/jats:italic>\n            . 60\u2005myr) convergent margin. Atud complex igneous rocks belong to a larger metagabbro\u2013epidiorite\u2013diorite complex that formed as a deep crustal mush into which new pulses of mafic magma were periodically emplaced, incorporated and evolved. The petrological evolution can be explained by fractional crystallization of mafic magma plus variable plagioclase accumulation in a mid- to lower crustal MASH zone.
