Sedimentological features known from comparable modern environments, but not hitherto described from any other ancient sediments, include granule ripples, gravel deflation pavements, pebbles rolled into eolian sands, and fulgurites. Much of the eolian sand was deposited in dunes indicating a wind direction predominantly to the south-west.
