This section is of particular interest because the rocks are of low metamorphic grade (chlorite zone) and display only a first deformation (D\n            <jats:sub>1<\/jats:sub>\n            ) metamorphic fabric and associated D\n            <jats:sub>1<\/jats:sub>\n            structures. Further north in the island other later episodes of Caledonian deformation and metamorphism are successively imprinted on the primary fabric thereby complicating and obscuring the nature and geometry of the D\n            <jats:sub>1<\/jats:sub>\n            structures.
