{"status":"ok","message-type":"work","message-version":"1.0.0","message":{"indexed":{"date-parts":[[2026,1,26]],"date-time":"2026-01-26T01:00:09Z","timestamp":1769389209757,"version":"3.49.0"},"reference-count":15,"publisher":"Geological Society of London","issue":"1","license":[{"start":{"date-parts":[[1975,5,1]],"date-time":"1975-05-01T00:00:00Z","timestamp":168134400000},"content-version":"stm-asf","delay-in-days":0,"URL":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.15223\/policy-002"}],"content-domain":{"domain":["www.lyellcollection.org"],"crossmark-restriction":true},"short-container-title":["SJG"],"published-print":{"date-parts":[[1975,5]]},"abstract":"<jats:title>Synopsis<\/jats:title>\n          <jats:p>The Triassic sediments are described including a number of new localities which extend the known area of cover.<\/jats:p>\n          <jats:p>A new map shows the Mesozoic\/Palaeozoic boundary at Camas Malag on Loch Slapin, where the basal Mesozoic sediments provide some critical evidence about the position of the latest Triassic and\/or earliest Jurassic upland areas in central Skye.<\/jats:p>\n          <jats:p>\n            Lateral and vertical variation in the Triassic facies, pebble size and composition of the conglomerates are plotted and show that there were two distinct physiographic environments:\n            <jats:list list-type=\"alpha-lower\">\n              <jats:list-item>\n                <jats:p>an alluvial fan system which drained local Palaeozoic and Torridonian areas between Beinn an Dubhaich and Ben Suardal, and dispersed eastwards.<\/jats:p>\n              <\/jats:list-item>\n              <jats:list-item>\n                <jats:p>a floodplain system which drained a metamorphic region north-east of Broadford and dispersed south-westwards.<\/jats:p>\n              <\/jats:list-item>\n            <\/jats:list>\n            Their age relationship is uncertain, but local evidence suggests that they may have been penecontemporaneous.\n          <\/jats:p>\n          <jats:p>The succession is seen to represent the youngest and the most easterly Triassic sedimentation in the Minch region.
