These were then refolded by open, near-upright F\n            <jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub>\n            crossfolds, and later by tight, also near-upright F\n            <jats:sub>3<\/jats:sub>\n            folds trending N to NE which now often dominate the megascopic rock fabric.\n          <\/jats:p>\n          <jats:p>\n            High grade metamorphism with widespread migmatization accompanied F\n            <jats:sub>1<\/jats:sub>\n            folding. Localized migmatization and recrystallization followed F\n            <jats:sub>1<\/jats:sub>\n            and F\n            <jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub>\n            folding, becoming more widespread after F\n            <jats:sub>3<\/jats:sub>\n            folding. A later metamorphism foliated and recrystallized a suite of early minor intrusions belonging to the Findhorn Newer Granite Complex.\n          <\/jats:p>\n          <jats:p>The Upper Findhorn rocks are situated centrally within the orthotectonic Caledonides.
