Soc."],"published-print":{"date-parts":[[2003,6,30]]},"abstract":"<jats:p>Web technologies enable collaborative work to be done more\nefficiently and effectively. A user can share resources with others\non the Web and perform his or her job based on a pre-defined policy\nfor collaboration. During the collaboration, the user may need to\ncreate new resources, merge, split, exchange, or update resources\ncreated by other users. To support these services on the Web, we\nneed machine-understandable as well as machine-readable metadata\nabout the resources. The concept of a Semantic Web has been\nintroduced to satisfy this requirement. Although the Semantic Web\nwill provide more accurate and efficient services on the Web, it\nalso introduces new problems that were not considered before,\nespecially, in regards to security, interoperability, and\ntransparency to users and organizations. In this paper, we discuss\nthe requirements to support secure collaboration on the Semantic\nWeb.
