Delta estimation assumes that new costs can be extrapolated from old projects. In this study, we show that in certain real-world data sets. there exists attributes where this assumption does not hold. We define here an automatic method to find which attributes can be safely used for delta estimation.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.1145\/1082983.1083170","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2005,11,7]],"date-time":"2005-11-07T19:28:32Z","timestamp":1131391712000},"page":"1-6","update-policy":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1145\/crossmark-policy","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":7,"title":["Simple software cost analysis"],"prefix":"10.1145","volume":"30","author":[{"given":"Tim","family":"Menzies","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"Portland State University"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Dan","family":"Port","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Uni. of Hawaii, Manoa"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Zhihao","family":"Chen","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Uni of Southern California"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Jairus","family":"Hihn","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]}],"member":"320","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2005,5,15]]},"reference":[{"key":"e_1_2_1_1_1","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.5555\/539425"},{"key":"e_1_2_1_2_1","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1109\/52.877854"},{"key":"e_1_2_1_3_1","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.5555\/557000"},{"key":"e_1_2_1_4_1","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1145\/1083165.1083171"},{"key":"e_1_2_1_5_1","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1109\/32.799958"},{"key":"e_1_2_1_6_1","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1145\/202709"},{"key":"e_1_2_1_7_1","first-page":"343","volume-title":"Learning with Continuous Classes.
