Both approaches have to be combined to achieve effective and successful software engineering. In this study, we compare three of the most industrially relevant software development process models (Rational Unified Process (RUP), Microsoft Solution Framework (MSF) and Extreme Programming (XP)) regarding their software quality support in terms of software quality development and software quality assurance. Based on the results we propose a de-facto standard for quality support in software development process models.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.1145\/1082983.1083300","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2005,11,7]],"date-time":"2005-11-07T19:28:32Z","timestamp":1131391712000},"page":"1-6","update-policy":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1145\/crossmark-policy","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":1,"title":["Software quality development and assurance in RUP, MSF and XP"],"prefix":"10.1145","volume":"30","author":[{"given":"Wolfgang","family":"Zuser","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"Vienna University of Technology"}]},{"given":"Stefan","family":"Heil","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Capgemini Consulting Austria"}]},{"given":"Thomas","family":"Grechenig","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Vienna University of Technology"}]}],"member":"320","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2005,5,17]]},"reference":[{"key":"e_1_2_1_1_1","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1109\/52.903153"},{"key":"e_1_2_1_2_1","volume-title":"Extreme Programming Explained: Embrace Change","author":"Beck K.","year":"2000","unstructured":"Beck , K. : Extreme Programming Explained: Embrace Change .
