I have here with me John Wilkes, who is an HP Fellow in the Internet Systems and Storage Laboratory at Hewlett Packard Laboratories in Palo Alto, California, where his research focuses on the design and management of storage systems. John is a member of the editorial board of ACM Transactions on Computer Systems, and until recently he was a member of the Technical Council of the Storage Network Industry Association. John is an ACM Fellow, and his PhD is from the University of Cambridge.
