Students and faculty need to be prepared to operate in this global environment. This ITiCSE working group report discusses why an international dimension is an important component of a computer science, student's education. It describes ways to add an international dimension to student learning and provides several case studies as examples. Barriers to international study are identified, and recommendations for how to do more to expand the international opportunities of computer science students are discussed.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.1145\/1113847.1113892","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2006,5,8]],"date-time":"2006-05-08T22:51:53Z","timestamp":1147128713000},"page":"139-151","update-policy":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1145\/crossmark-policy","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":7,"title":["Facilitating student learning through study abroad and international projects"],"prefix":"10.1145","volume":"37","author":[{"given":"Ursula","family":"Fuller","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"University of Kent, Canterbury, Kent, UK"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"June","family":"Amillo","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Universidad Polit\u00e9cnica de Madrid, Boadilla del Monte, Spain"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Cary","family":"Laxer","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Rose Hulman Institute of Technology, Terre Haute, IN"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"W.
