News"],"published-print":{"date-parts":[[1998,3]]},"abstract":"<jats:p>For many years, the Tomasulo method of dynamically scheduling instructions for execution in a load\/store processor has been known and used. This paper presents an adaptation of the Tomasulo method to a stack-based processor architecture, and illustrates its use in a software simulator of a subset of the Java Virtual Machine. Experimental results show that the adapted Tomasulo method reduces stack usage, in some cases eliminating it altogether.
