The goal of the system is to provide a common platform on which end users and developers can create, share and use scripts that specify accessibility improvements. We propose browser plugins that will automatically retrieve user scripts from a common repository and apply helpful transformations to pages visited by users. End user interfaces will allow anyone to create and share new improvements and developer interfaces will allow content creators to edit and save changes scripts make to web content. Accessmonkey seeks to enable those most impacted by web accessibility challenges to directly and independently improve them. This work is being pursued with close consultation and participation by blind web users.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.1145\/1328567.1328568","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2008,1,3]],"date-time":"2008-01-03T18:20:10Z","timestamp":1199384410000},"page":"3-6","update-policy":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1145\/crossmark-policy","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":9,"title":["Accessmonkey"],"prefix":"10.1145","author":[{"given":"Jeffrey P.","family":"Bigham","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"University of Washington, Seattle, WA"}]}],"member":"320","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2007,9]]},"reference":[{"key":"e_1_2_1_1_1","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1007\/11926078_8"},{"key":"e_1_2_1_2_1","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1145\/1296843.1296854"},{"key":"e_1_2_1_3_1","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1145\/1168987.1169018"},{"key":"e_1_2_1_4_1","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1145\/1243441.1243452"},{"key":"e_1_2_1_5_1","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1145\/1095034.1095062"},{"key":"e_1_2_1_6_1","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1145\/1242572.1242654"},{"key":"e_1_2_1_7_1","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1145\/1240624.1240767"},{"key":"e_1_2_1_8_1","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1145\/1166253.1166275"},{"key":"e_1_2_1_9_1","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1145\/1242572.1242578"},{"key":"e_1_2_1_10_1","volume-title":"Tips & Tools for Remixing the Web with Firefox","author":"Pilgrim M.","year":"2005","unstructured":"M.
