Many schools find it too expensive because of the cost and faculty resources required. That excuse is no longer valid. Colleges and Universities throughout the world can avail themselves of an extraordinary gift from Teradata Corporation that allows introducing large, complex problems into computer science classes without cost. The gift includes software and enormous databases available through the Internet as Software as a Service. This editorial describes the Teradata University Network, and how faculty can obtain this resource for their classes.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.1145\/1383602.1383604","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2008,6,24]],"date-time":"2008-06-24T12:48:51Z","timestamp":1214311731000},"page":"6-10","update-policy":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1145\/crossmark-policy","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":12,"title":["Using real data to invigorate student learning"],"prefix":"10.1145","volume":"40","author":[{"given":"Nenad","family":"Jukic","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"Loyola University Chicago, Chicago, Illinois"}]},{"given":"Paul","family":"Gray","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Claremont Graduate University, Claremont, California"}]}],"member":"320","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2008,6]]},"container-title":["ACM SIGCSE Bulletin"],"original-title":[],"language":"en","link":[{"URL":"https:\/\/dl.acm.org\/doi\/10.1145\/1383602.1383604","content-type":"unspecified","content-version":"vor","intended-application":"text-mining"},{"URL":"https:\/\/dl.acm.org\/doi\/pdf\/10.1145\/1383602.1383604","content-type":"unspecified","content-version":"vor","intended-application":"similarity-checking"}],"deposited":{"date-parts":[[2025,6,18]],"date-time":"2025-06-18T13:58:00Z","timestamp":1750255080000},"score":1,"resource":{"primary":{"URL":"https:\/\/dl.acm.org\/doi\/10.1145\/1383602.1383604"}},"subtitle":[],"short-title":[],"issued":{"date-parts":[[2008,6]]},"references-count":0,"journal-issue":{"issue":"2","published-print":{"date-parts":[[2008,6]]}},"alternative-id":["10.1145\/1383602.1383604"],"URL":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1145\/1383602.1383604","relation":{},"ISSN":["0097-8418"],"issn-type":[{"type":"print","value":"0097-8418"}],"subject":[],"published":{"date-parts":[[2008,6]]},"assertion":[{"value":"2008-06-01","order":2,"name":"published","label":"Published","group":{"name":"publication_history","label":"Publication History"}}]}}
