While previous work concentrated on detecting the temperature of a research topic, this work addresses the question of changing the temperature of said topics. We make suggestions for a set of techniques to re-heat a topic that has gone cold. In contrast to other researchers who propose uncertain approaches involving creativity, @lateral thinking and imagination, we concern ourselves with deterministic approaches that are guaranteed to yield results1.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.1145\/1517480.1517490","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2009,4,6]],"date-time":"2009-04-06T16:34:22Z","timestamp":1239035662000},"page":"48-49","update-policy":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1145\/crossmark-policy","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":2,"title":["Reheating cold topics (in networking)"],"prefix":"10.1145","volume":"39","author":[{"given":"Jon","family":"Crowcroft","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"University of Cambridge, Cambridge, United Kingdom"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]}],"member":"320","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2009,3,31]]},"container-title":["ACM SIGCOMM Computer Communication Review"],"original-title":[],"language":"en","link":[{"URL":"https:\/\/dl.acm.org\/doi\/10.1145\/1517480.1517490","content-type":"unspecified","content-version":"vor","intended-application":"text-mining"},{"URL":"https:\/\/dl.acm.org\/doi\/pdf\/10.1145\/1517480.1517490","content-type":"unspecified","content-version":"vor","intended-application":"similarity-checking"}],"deposited":{"date-parts":[[2025,6,18]],"date-time":"2025-06-18T13:30:06Z","timestamp":1750253406000},"score":1,"resource":{"primary":{"URL":"https:\/\/dl.acm.org\/doi\/10.1145\/1517480.1517490"}},"subtitle":[],"short-title":[],"issued":{"date-parts":[[2009,3,31]]},"references-count":0,"journal-issue":{"issue":"2","published-print":{"date-parts":[[2009,3,31]]}},"alternative-id":["10.1145\/1517480.1517490"],"URL":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1145\/1517480.1517490","relation":{},"ISSN":["0146-4833"],"issn-type":[{"type":"print","value":"0146-4833"}],"subject":[],"published":{"date-parts":[[2009,3,31]]},"assertion":[{"value":"2009-03-31","order":2,"name":"published","label":"Published","group":{"name":"publication_history","label":"Publication History"}}]}}
