OpenRoads enable researchers to innovate using their own production networks, through providing an wireless extension OpenFlow. Therefore, you can think of OpenRoads as \"OpenFlow Wireless\".<\/jats:p>\n
The OpenRoads' architecture consists of three layers: flow, slicing and controller. These layers provide flexible control, virtualization and high-level abstraction. This allows researchers to implement wildly different algorithms and run them concurrently in one network. OpenRoads also incorporates multiple wireless technologies, specifically WiFi and WiMAX. We have deployed OpenRoads, and used it as our production network. Our goal here is for those to deploy OpenRoads and build their own experiments on it.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.1145\/1672308.1672331","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2012,10,12]],"date-time":"2012-10-12T19:06:47Z","timestamp":1350068807000},"page":"125-126","update-policy":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1145\/crossmark-policy","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":218,"title":["OpenRoads"],"prefix":"10.1145","volume":"40","author":[{"given":"Kok-Kiong","family":"Yap","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"Stanford University, Stanford, CA, USA"}]},{"given":"Masayoshi","family":"Kobayashi","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"NEC System Platforms Research Labs, Tokyo, Japan"}]},{"given":"Rob","family":"Sherwood","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Deutsche Telekom Inc., R&D Lab, Los Altos, CA, USA"}]},{"given":"Te-Yuan","family":"Huang","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Stanford University, Stanford, CA, USA"}]},{"given":"Michael","family":"Chan","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Stanford University, Stanford, CA, USA"}]},{"given":"Nikhil","family":"Handigol","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Stanford University, Stanford, CA, USA"}]},{"given":"Nick","family":"McKeown","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Stanford University, Stanford, CA, USA"}]}],"member":"320","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2010,1,7]]},"reference":[{"key":"e_1_2_1_1_1","unstructured":"Flowvisor. http: \/\/openflowswitch.org\/wk\/index.php\/FlowVisor.
