In terms of bringing together many people from the appropriate communities, we think the meeting must be judged a success and the organizers congratulated. We found the unrefereed research presentations--as expected-- of very uneven quality. (One in formal language theory consisted of a result often given as an exercise in the first portion of a standard course. It is not reproduced here.) We will include some of the relevant abstracts in the next issue or two of SIGACT News as research notices.
