Mobility constrains several aspects of this mobile usage, such as limited screen estate, number of desired interactions, or availability due to battery time. As a consequence designers and developers of mobile geographic applications strive to reduce the amount of information delivered to users and aim at serving just useful content rather than a larger amount of unspecific data. This is to address the problem of information overload as well as to provide information that is relevant. Ultimately this is the goal of any information retrieval system.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.1145\/2047296.2047310","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2011,10,18]],"date-time":"2011-10-18T13:01:58Z","timestamp":1318942918000},"page":"67-70","update-policy":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1145\/crossmark-policy","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":8,"title":["Geographic relevance"],"prefix":"10.1145","volume":"3","author":[{"given":"Tumasch","family":"Reichenbacher","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"University of Zurich, Switzerland"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Stefano","family":"De Sabbata","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"University of Zurich, Switzerland"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]}],"member":"320","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2011,7]]},"reference":[{"volume-title":"Relevance: The whole history.
