It was completed in 2011 at the Arizona State University, Tempe, under the supervision of Prof. Hari Sundaram. The dissertation deals with the analysis of interpersonal communication dynamics in online social networks and social media. Communication dynamics have been of interest to researchers from multi-faceted domains over the past several decades. However, today we are faced with several modern capabilities encompassing a host of social media websites. This research is geared towards developing methods, tools and frameworks towards understanding and addressing the associated challenges of making sense of the modern online communication processes.
