He has long been a contributor to Hypertext research and the ACM Hypertext Conference where he has twice won ACM SIGWeb's Engelbart Award. He is also Information Director for the ACM SIGWeb executive committee, and organiser for the Narrative and Hypertext Workshop (NHT) - the longest running workshop series at ACM Hypertext.
