Communities across the globe face incredible challenges to preserve their environment, lifestyle, prosperity, equality, and even democracy. In the past five years, the urgency of multiple global crises, including climate degradation that causes extreme weather and shatters ecosystems and the COVID-19 pandemic that caused a global health crisis and economic upheaval, has threatened an already delicate balance. However, the impacts of these events are uneven - vulnerable, low-income, and marginalized communities have borne the brunt of many of these crises, not having the infrastructure or capacity to address every single gap.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.1145\/3631588.3631590","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2023,11,1]],"date-time":"2023-11-01T22:09:57Z","timestamp":1698876597000},"page":"5-9","update-policy":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1145\/crossmark-policy","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":0,"title":["Community-Driven Mobile and Ubiquitous Computing"],"prefix":"10.1145","volume":"27","author":[{"given":"Blaine","family":"Rothrock","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"Northwestern University, Evanston, IL, USA"}]},{"given":"Eric","family":"Greenlee","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA, USA"}]},{"given":"Josiah","family":"Hester","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA, USA"}]}],"member":"320","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2023,11]]},"reference":[{"unstructured":"Smart Sea Level Sensors. https:\/\/www.sealevel sensors.org\/ Smart Sea Level Sensors. https:\/\/www.sealevel sensors.org\/","key":"e_1_2_1_1_1"},{"unstructured":"K.M.
