These IoT satellite constellations bypass the need for Earth-based gateways, offering global coverage. This article delves into communication challenges encountered when deploying an IoT satellite network. Shifting the classic perspective on Doppler from a hindrance to an advantage, we present novel techniques leveraging Doppler shift for reliable packet detection and decoding, particularly in noisy environments. Integrated into our system, Spectrumize [1], these techniques offer a substantial performance boost compared to conventional methods.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.1145\/3640087.3640091","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2024,1,9]],"date-time":"2024-01-09T05:07:08Z","timestamp":1704776828000},"page":"11-14","update-policy":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1145\/crossmark-policy","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":3,"title":["Exploiting Satellite Doppler for Reliable and Faster Data Download in IoT Satellite Networks"],"prefix":"10.1145","volume":"27","author":[{"given":"Vaibhav","family":"Singh","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"Microsoft Corporation Redmond, WA, USA"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Tusher","family":"Chakraborty","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Microsoft Corporation Redmond, WA, USA"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Suraj","family":"Jog","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Microsoft Corporation Redmond, WA, USA"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Om","family":"Chabra","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Champaign, IL, USA"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Deepak","family":"Vasisht","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Champaign, IL, USA"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Ranveer","family":"Chandra","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Microsoft Corporation Redmond, WA, USA"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]}],"member":"320","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2024,1,8]]},"reference":[{"key":"e_1_2_1_1_1","volume-title":"USENIX Symposium on Networked Systems Design and Implementation","author":"Singh V.","unstructured":"V.
