However, there is currently a relative dearth of articles delving into the intersection of these two fields, particularly ones that approach it from both sociological and technological perspectives. This article navigates through the historical evolution of journalism, discussing the profound impact of the recent AI revolution on the field. Then, we investigate and experiment with some popular AI model customization technologies, such as embedding and Constitutional AI, to improve a generic LLM in a way that aligns with the foundational principles of journalism. Through these investigations, we aim to address issues of misinformation and distrust in journalism by using LLM technology.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.1145\/3665897","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2024,6,1]],"date-time":"2024-06-01T09:06:54Z","timestamp":1717232814000},"page":"1-12","update-policy":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1145\/crossmark-policy","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":11,"title":["When Journalism Meets AI: Risk or Opportunity?"],"prefix":"10.1145","volume":"6","author":[{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0009-0001-0332-2158","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Sophia","family":"Cheng","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"Northwestern University, Evanston, United States"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]}],"member":"320","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2025,2,13]]},"reference":[{"key":"e_1_3_2_2_2","unstructured":"Noor Al-Sibai and Jon Christian. 2023.
