This article introduces NeuroRadar, a groundbreaking solution that leverages a radar front-end capable of generating spike sequences, which can be efficiently processed by energy-saving Spiking Neural Networks (SNNs). We explore the innovative design and implementation of NeuroRadar, showcasing its effectiveness in applications like gesture recognition and human tracking. By achieving dramatically lower power consumption compared to traditional radar systems, NeuroRadar represents a new paradigm in energy-efficient IoT sensing.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.1145\/3701701.3701712","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2024,10,22]],"date-time":"2024-10-22T22:26:35Z","timestamp":1729635995000},"page":"36-39","update-policy":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1145\/crossmark-policy","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":0,"title":["A Neuromorphic Radar Sensor for Low-Power IoT Systems"],"prefix":"10.1145","volume":"28","author":[{"given":"Kai","family":"Zheng","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"University of California, San Diego, CA, USA"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Kun","family":"Qian","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"University of Virginia, Charlottesville, VA, USA"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Timothy","family":"Woodford","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"MIT Lincoln Lab, Lexington, MA, USA"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Xinyu","family":"Zhang","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"University of California, San Diego, CA, USA"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]}],"member":"320","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2024,10,22]]},"reference":[{"key":"e_1_2_1_1_1","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1016\/S0893-6080(97)00011-7"},{"key":"e_1_2_1_2_1","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1109\/MM.2018.112130359"},{"volume-title":"Proceedings of the 7th Annual Neuroinspired Computational Elements Workshop, 1--8.","author":"Blouw P.","key":"e_1_2_1_3_1","unstructured":"P.
