Over the years, its scope has evolved alongside developments in the search-as-learning domain, expanding from traditional search engines to more diverse Web-based learning environments, including generative AI-based conversational systems. Through diverse interaction formats, IWILDS has served as a venue for presenting research contributions and work-in-progress, fostering methodological discussions, and identifying emerging research priorities. The series has connected researchers and established an sustainable interdisciplinary research community on Web-based learning.
