The topic has attracted scholarly attention in recent years within fields such as computer science, information systems, internet information studies, and digital governance. This study identifies 60 information items disclosed by users in big-data and AI-driven online environments and classifies them based on their sensitivity. The information categories are clustered into five groups: less sensitive social attributes; consumption traces; individual behavioral details; potential risk information; and health and social sensitivity. Furthermore, the analysis examines temporal and spatial variations in information sensitivity and how they evolve over time. It explores the use of information sensitivity as an indicator of the alignment between users and cyberspace, thus reflecting the performance of internet governance across different regions, cultures, and platforms.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.1145\/3801080.3801085","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2026,3,31]],"date-time":"2026-03-31T16:58:18Z","timestamp":1774976298000},"page":"1-12","update-policy":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1145\/crossmark-policy","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":0,"title":["Information Sensitivity in Data Classification and Internet Governance"],"prefix":"10.1145","volume":"2026","author":[{"given":"Jian","family":"Mou","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"School of Business, Pusan National University"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Xi","family":"Chen","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Management Science Department, Yunnan University"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]}],"member":"320","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2026,3,31]]},"reference":[{"key":"e_1_2_1_1_1","article-title":"A construal level theory approach to privacy protection: The conjoint impact of benefits and risks of information disclosure","author":"Butori R.","year":"2023","unstructured":"Butori, R. and Lancelot Miltgen, C. 2023.
