Powder characterization was carried out by XRD and TEM. Screen-printed LSCF-SDC composite electrodes with different microstructures were obtained on CGO pellets. The electrochemical performance for the oxygen reduction reaction was investigated by impedance spectroscopy varying both the  temperature (600 \u2013 800 \u00b0C) and oxygen partial pressure at 750 \u00b0C. The results of the electrochemical characterization indicated a significant reduction in the area specific resistance (ASR) of the cathodes prepared at different sintering conditions, highlighting that the electrode resistance can be manipulated by microstructural design. The lowest value of ASR in pure oxygen, 0.18 ohm.cm<jats:sup>2<\/jats:sup> at 750 \u00b0C, is attributed to specific microstructural features, such as good connectivity between LSCF and SDC grains and a well developed open pore network, observed for the composite cathode sintered at 1150 \u00b0C for 2 h.
