The hybrid \u201clocal Newton\u201d method consists of a combination of the fixedpoint\niteration (FPI) and Newton\u2019s methods. The FPI technique is nearly ideally suited to\nsolving large, 3\u2010D systems of semiconductor equations on machines of limited computer\nmemory ; however, it has certain limitations.
