It is shown that the ICFE in\nGaAs one\u2010dimensional quantum wires is already significant under moderate electric field\nstrengths (\u2265 a few hundreds V\/cm). This is a marked contrast to the cases in bulk, where the\nICFE is expected to be significant under extremely strong electric fields (\u2265 MV\/cm).
