The strength of beating is found to be dependent on the <jats:italic>Sn<\/jats:italic> submonolayer coverage with strong beating observed for 0.4 monolayer coverage. For a fixed temperature and\nflux ratio (<jats:italic>Ga<\/jats:italic> to <jats:italic>As<\/jats:italic>), the period of oscillation decreases with increasing <jats:italic>Sn<\/jats:italic> coverage. In this\nwork, we have developed a rate equation model of growth to investigate this phenomenon. In\nour model, the <jats:italic>GaAs<\/jats:italic> covered by the <jats:italic>Sn<\/jats:italic> is assumed to grow at a faster rate compared to the\n<jats:italic>GaAs<\/jats:italic> not covered by <jats:italic>Sn<\/jats:italic>.
