The code includes a realistic <jats:bold>k.p<\/jats:bold> model of the\nvalence subbands and corresponding wavefunctions. Intra\u2010 and inter\u2010subband phonon\nscattering rates are calculated for polar and non\u2010polar interactions via both optical and\nacoustic modes. The code is used to simulate the cooling of non\u2010equilibrium\nphotogenerated hole populations. A lifetime of 90 fs is extracted for optical phonon\nmediated depopulation of the 4th subband at 77K. By contrast, the 2nd subband\nexhibits fast re\u2010population, but slow de\u2010population, with extracted lifetimes of up to\n160 ps.
