Two reference implementations\nof this architecture are being created. The Research Reference Platform\n(RRP) is a Myrinet<jats:sup>TM<\/jats:sup> cluster of PCs with PCI\u2010based FPGA accelerators (SLAAC\u20101).\nThe Deployable Reference Platform (DRP) is a Myrinet cluster of PowerPC<jats:sup>TM<\/jats:sup> nodes\nwith VME\u2010based FPGA accelerators (SLAAC\u20102) and a commercial 6U\u2010VME quad\u2010\nPowerPC board (CSPI M2641S) serving as the carrier. A key strategy proposed for\nsuccessful ACS technology insertions is source\u2010code compatibility between the RRP and\nDRP platforms. This paper focuses on the development of the SLAAC\u20101 and SLAAC\u20102\naccelerators and how the network\u2010centric SLAAC system\u2010level architecture has shaped\ntheir designs.
