The success\nof any gas recognition system depends on its computational\ncomplexity and its robustness. In this work, we propose a\nnew low\u2010complexity recognition method which is tested and\nsuccessfully validated for tin\u2010oxide gas sensor array chip. The\nrecognition system is based on a vector angle similarity measure\nbetween the query gas and the representatives of the different gas\nclasses. The latter are obtained using a clustering algorithm based\non the same measure within the training data set. Experimented results on our in\u2010house gas sensors array show more than 98<jats:italic>%<\/jats:italic>\nof correct recognition.
