Carbon \n                  nanotubes have been widely studied due to their \n                  potential applications in many fields including \n                  conductive and high\u2010strength composites, energy \n                  storage and energy conversion devices, sensors, \n                  field emission displays and radiation sources, \n                  hydrogen storage media, and nanometer\u2010sized \n                  semiconductor devices, probes, and quantum \n                  wires. Some of these applications have been \n                  realized in products, while others show great \n                  potentials. The development of carbon \n                  nanotubes\u2010based sensors has attracted intensive \n                  interest in the last several years because of \n                  their excellent sensing properties such as high \n                  selectivity and prompt response. Carbon nanotube\u2010based gas sensors are summarized \n                  in this paper. Sensors based on single\u2010walled, \n                  multiwalled, and well\u2010aligned carbon nanotubes \n                  arrays are introduced. Modification of carbon \n                  nanotubes with functional groups, metals, \n                  oxides, polymers, or doping carbon \n                  nanotubes with other elements to enhance the \n                  response and selectivity of the sensors is also \n
