Its important properties are brought out using asymptotic analysis. It is shown that at high Signal\u2010to\u2010Noise Ratios (SNRs), the algorithm results in a timing estimate with negligible bias. It also has a Mean\u2010Square\u2010Error (MSE) performance that is superior for short data records and small roll\u2010off factors to that of the Square\u2010Law\u2010(SQL\u2010) and the CycloStationarity\u2010(CS\u2010) based algorithms available to date.
