QUEST seeks to develop a general purpose computational intelligence system that captures the beneficial engineering aspects of qualia-based solutions. Qualia-based approaches are constructed from subjective representations and have the ability to detect, distinguish, and characterize entities in the environment  Adaptive feedback loops are implemented that enhance performance by reducing candidate subjects in the gallery and by injecting additional probe images during the matching process. The architecture presented provides a framework  for exploring more advanced integration strategies beyond those presented. Algorithmic results and performance improvements are presented as spatial, spectral, and temporal effects are utilized; additionally, a Matlab-based graphical user interface (GUI) is developed to aid processing, track performance, and to display results.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.1155\/2012\/203670","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2012,5,8]],"date-time":"2012-05-08T21:03:02Z","timestamp":1336510982000},"page":"1-13","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":6,"title":["QUEST Hierarchy for Hyperspectral Face Recognition"],"prefix":"10.1155","volume":"2012","author":[{"given":"David M.","family":"Ryer","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"Department of Operational Sciences, Air Force Institute of Technology, 2950 Hobson Way, Wright Patterson Air Force Base, OH 45433-7765, USA"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Trevor J.","family":"Bihl","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Department of Operational Sciences, Air Force Institute of Technology, 2950 Hobson Way, Wright Patterson Air Force Base, OH 45433-7765, USA"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Kenneth W.","family":"Bauer","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Department of Operational Sciences, Air Force Institute of Technology, 2950 Hobson Way, Wright Patterson Air Force Base, OH 45433-7765, USA"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Steven K.","family":"Rogers","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Air Force Research Laboratory, Sensors and Information Directorates, 2241 Avionics Circle, Wright Patterson AFB, OH 45433, USA"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]}],"member":"98","reference":[{"issue":"7","key":"1","first-page":"30","volume":"24","year":"2009","journal-title":"Defense News"},{"key":"3","first-page":"242","volume-title":"The pigeon as a quality-control inspector","year":"1966"},{"key":"5","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1109\/TBME.2008.2003265"},{"key":"7","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1109\/TCSVT.2003.818349"},{"key":"9","year":"2009"},{"key":"10","year":"2011"},{"key":"15","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1016\/j.cviu.2004.04.001"},{"key":"18","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1109\/TPAMI.2003.1251148"},{"key":"23","year":"2003"},{"issue":"1","key":"24","doi-asserted-by":"crossref","first-page":"71","DOI":"10.1162\/jocn.1991.3.1.71","volume":"3","year":"1991","journal-title":"Journal of Cognitive Neuroscience"},{"key":"25","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1080\/01431160500168728"},{"key":"27","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1023\/B:VISI.0000029664.99615.94"},{"key":"29","year":"1988"},{"key":"32","year":"2008"},{"key":"33","first-page":"225","volume-title":"Recognizing degraded faces: contribution of internal and external features","year":"2005"},{"key":"35","year":"2001"},{"key":"37","year":"2004"}],"container-title":["Advances in Artificial Intelligence"],"original-title":[],"language":"en","link":[{"URL":"http:\/\/downloads.hindawi.com\/archive\/2012\/203670.pdf","content-type":"application\/pdf","content-version":"vor","intended-application":"text-mining"},{"URL":"http:\/\/downloads.hindawi.com\/archive\/2012\/203670.xml","content-type":"application\/xml","content-version":"vor","intended-application":"text-mining"},{"URL":"http:\/\/downloads.hindawi.com\/archive\/2012\/203670.pdf","content-type":"unspecified","content-version":"vor","intended-application":"similarity-checking"}],"deposited":{"date-parts":[[2020,12,10]],"date-time":"2020-12-10T03:38:29Z","timestamp":1607571509000},"score":1,"resource":{"primary":{"URL":"https:\/\/www.hindawi.com\/journals\/aai\/2012\/203670\/"}},"subtitle":[],"short-title":[],"issued":{"date-parts":[[2012,5,8]]},"references-count":17,"alternative-id":["203670","203670"],"URL":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1155\/2012\/203670","relation":{},"ISSN":["1687-7470","1687-7489"],"issn-type":[{"value":"1687-7470","type":"print"},{"value":"1687-7489","type":"electronic"}],"subject":[],"published":{"date-parts":[[2012,5,8]]}}}
