The proposed iterative method has optimal order of convergence sixteen in the sense of Kung-Traub conjecture (Kung and Traub, 1974); it means that the iterative scheme uses five functional evaluations to achieve 16(=<mml:math xmlns:mml=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/1998\/Math\/MathML\" id=\"M1\"><mml:mrow><mml:msup><mml:mrow><mml:mn>2<\/mml:mn><\/mml:mrow><mml:mrow><mml:mn>5<\/mml:mn><mml:mo>-<\/mml:mo><mml:mn>1<\/mml:mn><\/mml:mrow><\/mml:msup><\/mml:mrow><\/mml:math>) order of convergence. The proposed iterative method utilizes one derivative and four function evaluations.
