The goal is to provide utility services for small, medium, and macroenterprises in the context of mobile e-services. Three things are important to make this engine effective and efficient: the implementation, performance, and the pricing strategy. The literature has delved richly into implementation issue of similar projects. Both the performance and the pricing strategy issues have not been fully discussed especially in the context of mobile healthcare services. Some literature has addressed the performance issue using the exogenous nonpriority and the preemptive model. However, with providers offering different services using that approach may prove to be difficult to implement. This work extends existing and widely adopted theories to non-preemptive model by using the queuing theory and the simulation model in the context of mobile healthcare services. Our evaluation is based on non-preemptive priority and nonpriority discipline. Our results reveal that the unconditional average waiting time remains the same with reduction in waiting time over the non-preemptive priority model in four out of the five classes observed. This is envisaged to be beneficial in mobile healthcare services where events are prioritized and urgent attention is needed to be given to urgent events.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.1155\/2014\/248293","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2014,11,18]],"date-time":"2014-11-18T16:03:46Z","timestamp":1416326626000},"page":"1-9","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":10,"title":["Performance Modeling of Proposed GUISET Middleware for Mobile Healthcare Services in E-Marketplaces"],"prefix":"10.1155","volume":"2014","author":[{"given":"Alaba Olu","family":"Akingbesote","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"Department of Computer Science, University of Zululand, Private Bag X1001, KwaDlangezwa 3886, South Africa"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Mathew Olusegun","family":"Adigun","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Department of Computer Science, University of Zululand, Private Bag X1001, KwaDlangezwa 3886, South Africa"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Sibisuso","family":"Xulu","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Department of Computer Science, University of Zululand, Private Bag X1001, KwaDlangezwa 3886, South Africa"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Edgar","family":"Jembere","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Department of Computer Science, University of Zululand, Private Bag X1001, KwaDlangezwa 3886, South Africa"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]}],"member":"311","reference":[{"year":"2008","key":"1"},{"key":"3","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1002\/wcm.1203"},{"volume":"3","volume-title":"mHealth: new horizons for health through mobile technologies","year":"2011","key":"5"},{"issue":"5","key":"10","volume":"3","year":"2011","journal-title":"International Journal of Computer Networks"},{"first-page":"726","volume-title":"Managing costs and time for customer value","year":"2008","key":"11"},{"first-page":"199","volume-title":"Performance evaluation of cloud data centers with batch task arrivals","year":"2013","key":"14"},{"key":"15","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1155\/2014\/756592"},{"issue":"5","key":"18","volume":"2","year":"2011","journal-title":"Indian Journal of Computer Science and Engineering"},{"issue":"8","key":"20","first-page":"19","volume":"1","year":"2012","journal-title":"International Journal of Scientific & Technology Research"},{"key":"22","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1007\/s11134-013-9382-6"},{"key":"24","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1016\/j.cor.2007.06.001"},{"year":"2008","key":"27"},{"year":"1985","key":"28"}],"container-title":["Journal of Applied Mathematics"],"original-title":[],"language":"en","link":[{"URL":"http:\/\/downloads.hindawi.com\/journals\/jam\/2014\/248293.pdf","content-type":"application\/pdf","content-version":"vor","intended-application":"text-mining"},{"URL":"http:\/\/downloads.hindawi.com\/journals\/jam\/2014\/248293.xml","content-type":"application\/xml","content-version":"vor","intended-application":"text-mining"},{"URL":"http:\/\/downloads.hindawi.com\/journals\/jam\/2014\/248293.pdf","content-type":"unspecified","content-version":"vor","intended-application":"similarity-checking"}],"deposited":{"date-parts":[[2016,7,28]],"date-time":"2016-07-28T14:24:55Z","timestamp":1469715895000},"score":1,"resource":{"primary":{"URL":"http:\/\/www.hindawi.com\/journals\/jam\/2014\/248293\/"}},"subtitle":[],"short-title":[],"issued":{"date-parts":[[2014]]},"references-count":13,"alternative-id":["248293","248293"],"URL":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1155\/2014\/248293","relation":{},"ISSN":["1110-757X","1687-0042"],"issn-type":[{"type":"print","value":"1110-757X"},{"type":"electronic","value":"1687-0042"}],"subject":[],"published":{"date-parts":[[2014]]}}}
