This international standard is the first official document that has dealt with communication related to the healthcare device. This paper is about implementing communication protocols between a weight sensor, a kind of personal health devices (PHDs) used in homes, and a gateway collecting a variety of biometric information from multiple sensors, applying international standard ISO\/IEEE 11073-20601 for interoperability between medical devices. Moreover, security is enhanced by applying the international symmetric key encryption standard, advanced encryption standard (AES), for secure data transmission from the weight sensor to gateway.
