First, the server is unreliable and is subject to random breakdowns. Second, the server also implements the well-known <mml:math xmlns:mml=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/1998\/Math\/MathML\" id=\"M2\"><mml:mrow><mml:mi>N<\/mml:mi><\/mml:mrow><\/mml:math>-policy. Third, instead of a Bernoulli vacation schedule, the more general notion of binomial schedule with <mml:math xmlns:mml=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/1998\/Math\/MathML\" id=\"M3\"><mml:mrow><mml:mi>K<\/mml:mi><\/mml:mrow><\/mml:math> vacations is applied. A cost function with two decision variables is developed.
