It explores spatial diversity of the received mixtures of sources by different sensors. By using the kurtosis measure, it is possible to select the source of interest out of a number of separated BSS outputs. Further noise cancellation can be achieved by adding an adaptive noise canceller (ANC) as postprocessing. However, the computation is rather intensive and an online implementation of the overall system is not straightforward. This paper intends to fill the gap by developing an FPGA hardware architecture to implement the system. Subband processing is explored and detailed functional operations are profiled carefully. The final proposed FPGA system is able to handle signals with sample rate over 20000 samples per second.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.1155\/2018\/3721756","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2018,12,4]],"date-time":"2018-12-04T18:30:55Z","timestamp":1543948255000},"page":"1-9","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":4,"title":["On a Real-Time Blind Signal Separation Noise Reduction System"],"prefix":"10.1155","volume":"2018","author":[{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0002-7523-4069","authenticated-orcid":true,"given":"Ka Fai Cedric","family":"Yiu","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"Department of Applied Mathematics, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hung Hom, Hong Kong"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Siow Yong","family":"Low","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"School of Electronics and Computer Science, University of Southampton, Malaysia Campus, Iskandar Puteri, Johor, Malaysia"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]}],"member":"311","reference":[{"volume-title":"Microphone Arrays: Signal Processing Techniques and Applications","year":"2001","key":"1"},{"volume-title":"Speech Enhancement","year":"March 2005","key":"2"},{"year":"2007","key":"3"},{"key":"4","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1109\/89.928915"},{"key":"5","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1109\/TASL.2012.2196513"},{"key":"6","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1109\/TAP.1982.1142739"},{"key":"7","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1109\/8.166535"},{"key":"11","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1109\/5.720250"},{"key":"12","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1109\/89.841214"},{"key":"13","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1016\/j.specom.2017.06.007"},{"issue":"4","key":"14","doi-asserted-by":"crossref","first-page":"692","DOI":"10.1109\/TASLP.2016.2647702","volume":"25","year":"2017","journal-title":"IEEE\/ACM Transactions on Audio Speech and Language Processing"},{"key":"15","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1109\/TSA.2003.809193"},{"key":"16","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1109\/TSA.2004.832993"},{"key":"24","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.5120\/ijca2015907532"},{"key":"25","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1109\/TASL.2010.2052803"},{"key":"26","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1016\/j.neucom.2017.08.034"},{"key":"28","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1016\/j.asoc.2014.03.016"}],"container-title":["International Journal of Reconfigurable Computing"],"original-title":[],"language":"en","link":[{"URL":"http:\/\/downloads.hindawi.com\/journals\/ijrc\/2018\/3721756.pdf","content-type":"application\/pdf","content-version":"vor","intended-application":"text-mining"},{"URL":"http:\/\/downloads.hindawi.com\/journals\/ijrc\/2018\/3721756.xml","content-type":"application\/xml","content-version":"vor","intended-application":"text-mining"},{"URL":"http:\/\/downloads.hindawi.com\/journals\/ijrc\/2018\/3721756.pdf","content-type":"unspecified","content-version":"vor","intended-application":"similarity-checking"}],"deposited":{"date-parts":[[2018,12,4]],"date-time":"2018-12-04T18:30:58Z","timestamp":1543948258000},"score":1,"resource":{"primary":{"URL":"https:\/\/www.hindawi.com\/journals\/ijrc\/2018\/3721756\/"}},"subtitle":[],"short-title":[],"issued":{"date-parts":[[2018,12,4]]},"references-count":17,"alternative-id":["3721756","3721756"],"URL":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1155\/2018\/3721756","relation":{},"ISSN":["1687-7195","1687-7209"],"issn-type":[{"type":"print","value":"1687-7195"},{"type":"electronic","value":"1687-7209"}],"subject":[],"published":{"date-parts":[[2018,12,4]]}}}
