In this paper, a new class of quaternary sequences over <mml:math xmlns:mml=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/1998\/Math\/MathML\" id=\"M2\"><mml:mrow><mml:msub><mml:mrow><mml:mi mathvariant=\"double-struck\">F<\/mml:mi><\/mml:mrow><mml:mrow><mml:mn>4<\/mml:mn><\/mml:mrow><\/mml:msub><\/mml:mrow><\/mml:math> with period <mml:math xmlns:mml=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/1998\/Math\/MathML\" id=\"M3\"><mml:mrow><mml:mn>2<\/mml:mn><mml:msup><mml:mrow><mml:mi>p<\/mml:mi><\/mml:mrow><mml:mrow><mml:mi>m<\/mml:mi><\/mml:mrow><\/mml:msup><mml:msup><mml:mrow><mml:mi>q<\/mml:mi><\/mml:mrow><mml:mrow><mml:mi>n<\/mml:mi><\/mml:mrow><\/mml:msup><\/mml:mrow><\/mml:math> is constructed using generalized cyclotomic classes. Results show that the linear complexity of these sequences attains the
