In this study, 136 COVID-19 patients admitted to our hospital were divided into a critical group (94 cases) and a general group (42 cases). In addition, a questionnaire was used to investigate the mental health of COVID-19 patients in early low-incidence areas, including 147 medical staff members and 213 nonmedical staff members. The effects were compared between the optimized GA template matching (OGATM) algorithm proposed in this study and traditional GATM, which were applied in CT images of COVID-19 patients. The results showed that the proposed algorithm could improve the accuracy of pneumonia detection and reduce the false-positive rate. The average age of patients in the severe group was markedly higher than that of the general group (<jats:inline-formula>\n                     <a:math xmlns:a=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/1998\/Math\/MathML\" id=\"M1\">\n                        <a:mi>P<\/a:mi>\n                        <a:mo>&lt;<\/a:mo>\n                        <a:mn>0.05<\/a:mn>\n                     <\/a:math>\n                  <\/jats:inline-formula>). The number of cases with diabetes mellitus (49.6%) from the severe group was more than that from the general group (12.4%) (<jats:inline-formula>\n                     <c:math xmlns:c=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/1998\/Math\/MathML\" id=\"M2\">\n                        <c:mi>P<\/c:mi>\n                        <c:mo>&lt;<\/c:mo>\n                        <c:mn>0.05<\/c:mn>\n                     <\/c:math>\n                  <\/jats:inline-formula>). Lymphocyte count in patients from the severe group (0.68\u2009\u00b1\u20090.26\u2009\u00d7\u2009109\/L) was sharply lower than that of the general group (1.12\u2009\u00b1\u20090.34\u2009\u00d7\u2009109\/L) (<jats:inline-formula>\n                     <e:math xmlns:e=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/1998\/Math\/MathML\" id=\"M3\">\n                        <e:mi>P<\/e:mi>\n                        <e:mo>&lt;<\/e:mo>\n                        <e:mn>0.05<\/e:mn>\n                     <\/e:math>\n                  <\/jats:inline-formula>). The total T lymphocyte count in patients from the severe group reduced steeply in contrast to that of the general group (<jats:inline-formula>\n                     <g:math xmlns:g=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/1998\/Math\/MathML\" id=\"M4\">\n                        <g:mi>P<\/g:mi>\n                        <g:mo>&lt;<\/g:mo>\n                        <g:mn>0.05<\/g:mn>\n                     <\/g:math>\n                  <\/jats:inline-formula>). The anxiety and depression scores of medical patients (39.45\u2009\u00b1\u20099.45 points and 47.58\u2009\u00b1\u200910.47 points) were obviously lower than the scores of nonmedical patients (43.57\u2009\u00b1\u20099.54 points and 52.48\u2009\u00b1\u200910.25 points) (<jats:inline-formula>\n                     <i:math xmlns:i=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/1998\/Math\/MathML\" id=\"M5\">\n                        <i:mi>P<\/i:mi>\n                        <i:mo>&lt;<\/i:mo>\n                        <i:mn>0.05<\/i:mn>\n                     <\/i:math>\n                  <\/jats:inline-formula>). In conclusion, the elderly and staffs with diabetes mellitus were more likely to develop severe COVID-19.
