The response properties of NA\u2010LCX for Cu<jats:sup>2+<\/jats:sup> ions and H<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub>S with \u201con\u2010off\u2010on\u201d manner were investigated by fluorescence emission spectra. A highly selective and sensitive response of complex NA\u2010LCX\u2010Cu<jats:sup>2+<\/jats:sup> for H<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub>S over other competing amino acids was observed with a limit of detection at 2.79\u2009<jats:italic>\u03bc<\/jats:italic>M. The stoichiometry of NA\u2010LCX toward Cu<jats:sup>2+<\/jats:sup> ions was determined to be 1\u2009:\u20091 by the UV\u2010Vis absorption spectrum, and the coordination configuration was calculated by density functional theory (DFT) calculations.
