We model the spread of smoke concentration in the region of the fires using a diffusion\u2010advection\u2010decay equation considering existing particulate matter as a source. We derive the coefficients for the model from Boltzmann calculations, wind speeds, and half\u2010life. We analyze the resulting solution curves and numerical data through a MATLAB program to suggest reforms, modifications, and addenda to policies on the evacuation and return of affected residents.
