A transient increase in the serum content as measured by an immunochemical method of Mancini et al. was observed in all guinea pigs suffering from inflammation. The serum C9 reached a maximum of approximately 200% of the initial serum level at 4 days after the injection of inflammatory agent. From studies involving incorporation of 14C-leucine into C9, it was shown that the rate of C9 synthesis in guinea pigs with turpentine-induced inflammation was increased significantly over that observed in normal guinea pigs.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.1159\/000231279","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2009,7,28]],"date-time":"2009-07-28T02:24:43Z","timestamp":1248747883000},"page":"887-893","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":9,"title":["Synthesis of the Ninth Component of Guinea Pig Complement (C9) in Response to Experimentally Induced Inflammation"],"prefix":"10.1159","author":[{"given":"M.","family":"Takahashi","sequence":"first","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"S.","family":"Kawachi-Takahashi","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"K.","family":"Yamamoto","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]}],"member":"127","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2009,7,23]]},"container-title":["International Archives of Allergy and Applied Immunology"],"original-title":[],"language":"en","link":[{"URL":"https:\/\/www.karger.com\/Article\/Pdf\/231279","content-type":"application\/pdf","content-version":"vor","intended-application":"text-mining"},{"URL":"https:\/\/karger.com\/article-pdf\/doi\/10.1159\/000231279","content-type":"unspecified","content-version":"vor","intended-application":"similarity-checking"}],"deposited":{"date-parts":[[2026,5,1]],"date-time":"2026-05-01T10:11:34Z","timestamp":1777630294000},"score":1,"resource":{"primary":{"URL":"https:\/\/karger.com\/article\/doi\/10.1159\/000231279"}},"subtitle":[],"short-title":[],"issued":{"date-parts":[[2009,7,23]]},"references-count":0,"URL":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1159\/000231279","archive":["Portico"],"relation":{},"ISSN":["0020-5915","2571-6662"],"issn-type":[{"value":"0020-5915","type":"print"},{"value":"2571-6662","type":"electronic"}],"subject":[],"published":{"date-parts":[[2009,7,23]]}}}
