The environment has cooperating knowledge- based and simulation parts integrated into one modeling system. An idealized knowledge-based simulation model is presented along with a language for implementing such a model. This language is based on Symbolics Common Lisp with Flavors package. A model of the software development process is presented to illustrate the use of the knowledge-based simulation environment.
