The selection of an inadequate software package can result in significant financial losses and in the disruption of simulation projects. SimSelect is a software system that provides a support to the users when selecting simulation software. It consists of a database linked to a user interface developed using Visual Basic 3.0. Following a specification of user's requirements, the system queries a database and finds a simulation package as well as alternatives suitable to the user.
