CTPS was built by inte grating a set of existing commercial and mili tary simulations, each specialized for a differ ent part of the process. None of the integrated simulators was initially interoperable, or even designed to be interoperable, with the others. The integration was achieved using the High Level Architecture (HLA), together with inter face modules for each of the simulators.
