They have proved valuable in representing and searching generic chemical structure informa tion. <\/jats:p>
The generation of all subgraphs of one type of reduced chemical graph and their use as screens for substructure searching of databases of specific chemical structures are de scribed. The subgraphs have the potential to provide a single key for each substructure search query which comprises a single connected fragment, with possible advantages in an inverted file substructure search system. The methods and costs of generating the subgraphs, and their effectiveness in search, are assessed. <\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.1177\/016555158901500404","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2007,3,18]],"date-time":"2007-03-18T06:07:59Z","timestamp":1174198079000},"page":"211-222","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":4,"title":["Subgraphs of reduced chemical graphs as screens for substructure searching of specific chemical structures"],"prefix":"10.1177","volume":"15","author":[{"given":"Janey K.","family":"Cringean","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"Department of Information Studies, University of Sheffiele,\rSheffield S10 2TN, UK"}]},{"given":"Michael F.","family":"Lynch","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Department of Information Studies, University of Sheffiele,\rSheffield S10 2TN, UK"}]}],"member":"179","published-online":{"date-parts":[[1989,8,1]]},"reference":[{"key":"atypb1","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1021\/c160050a013"},{"key":"atypb2","unstructured":"P.J.
